The story of former Hollywood star Grace Kelly’s crisis of marriage and identity, during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle, and a looming French invasion of Monaco in the early 1960s.

The 2014 Princess Grace Foundation Awards Gala is geared to be the most star-studded event as it returns to Los Angeles where Grace Kelly reigned as hollywood royalty in the mid 1950’s.

Glee star Jane Lynch will host the 30th Annual Princess Grace Foundation Awards on October 8th in Beverly Hills. Other presenters include Geena Davis and Adam Shankan – and The Tenors will perform. Late Night talk show host Conan O’Brien will present Dick Van Dyke with the Prince Rainier lll Award, which recognizes a renowned leader in the arts whose own accomplishments are coupled with demonstrated service to the performing arts. Past recipients of this award include Julie Andrews, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Glenn Close, George Lucas, Mandy Patinkin, Twyla Tharp, and Pauletta and Denzel Washington, who each received a grant of $25,000 to the philanthropic organization of their choice.

This year, Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Charlene are attending the Gala. Princess Charlene is pregnant, expecting in December. Princess Grace made famous the KELLY BAG when she was protecting her pregnancy from the paparazzi. We shall see if Princess Charlene will need a larger DIOR bag for her twins.
Dior Fashion Show – 2014
The presenting sponsor is Christian Dior Couture – traditionally in Monaco, the major galas were elaborately showcased by a famous designer – in a newly signed three year agreement, the luxury firm DIOR will add a splash at this year’s Hollywood awards…and next year’s event in Monte Carlo. Princess Grace supported DIOR through her lifetime and often attended his events.

Perhaps Princess Charlene will have a DIOR baby …. in 1967 Princess Grace opened the Baby DIOR shop in France.
Princess Grace made an appearance via computer animation in Dior’s early television commercial for its J’adore fragrance, along with Marilyn Monroe.
American Airlines is the official airline for the event … and has itself used Grace Kelly as an ambassador – even in present day.
The Princess Grace Foundation-USA is a non-profit, publicly-supported foundation, headquartered in New York City and founded 32 years ago by Prince Rainier III of Monaco to honor his wife, Princess Grace’s [Kelly] legacy. The Foundation’s mission is dedicated to identifying and assisting emerging talent in theater, dance, and film by awarding grants in the form of scholarships, apprenticeships, and fellowships. Since the Foundation’s inception, more than 800 recipients have been awarded, totaling over $10 million.
Oscar Issac and David Hallberg will receive the top honors of the evening: The Princess Grace Statue Award.
The festivities actually begin the night before at a Princess Grace Foundation Cocktail Reception...supported by friends and celebrities like Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, January Jones, Bruce Willis, Jon Voight, Josh Groban, Taylor Lautner and evening hostess Linda Bruckheimer. This was also the occasion for the first Hollywood baby gift for Prince Albert and Princess Charlene
